PANEL DISCUSSION / FIRESIDE CHAT

LGBTQ+ MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING

About

We offer a variety of sessions focused on mental health and wellbeing, delivered by experts in this area. They can be focused on all, or specific to LGBTQ+ women or those who are non-binary.

Stonewall’s ‘Prescription for Change’ report found lesbian and bisexual women had higher rates of suicidal thoughts and self-harm compared to women in general.

LGBTQIA+ people are 1½ times more likely to develop depression and anxiety disorder compared to the rest of the population.

19% of LGBTQIA+ employees have experienced verbal bullying from colleagues, customers or service users because of their sexual orientation in the last 5 years.

Our panel discussion will focus on the unique mental health challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and how we can work together to create an environment of empathy, kindness and inclusiveness.

The trauma experienced through homophobia, transphobia, difficulty in ‘coming out’, society pressures towards LGBTQ+ community has a huge impact on their mental health.
