Transgender Rights Activist (She/They)

Who am I

Eva Echo (she/they) is an activist, writer and public speaker focusing on transgender rights and mental health, using her own experiences to shed light on what it is to be transgender, challenging obstacles which trans people face within today’s society. Eva took legal action against NHS England in the High Court to challenge unlawful waiting times for trans patients. She won the DIVA Award for Unsung Hero of the Year 2022 and was named on the DIVA Power List for 2022 and 2023. Eva won Trans In The City's Trans Community Champion award and went on to become a Director there.

Eva is also Director of Innovation at Birmingham Pride, sits on the Crown Prosecution Service’s hate crime panel and works with Met Police’s L&D team.   Eva’s story and work have featured at both national and international level, in publications such as Metro, Refinery29, Boots Health & Beauty and Cosmopolitan, in addition to numerous TV appearances. She’s delivered keynote speeches advocating for ED&I within many organisations, including IGPP, Facebook and King’s College London. Eva founded the #PassItOn campaign, which created discussion around trans image standards and representation in the media. Her message is simple: be your own kind of beautiful.
