Emma is an out and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and is currently Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Innovate UK.
After 8 years as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service, she moved into Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
At Stonewall in 2018, Emma spearheaded the Inclusive Role Models programme in Australia, partnering with The Equality Project.
She continued advocacy at The Better Together Conference in Adelaide in 2023, where she spoke on the International Panel addressing global LGBTQ+ issues.
Emma dedicated 3 years on the Board of Trustees at LGBTQ+ Young Persons’ Trust, Mosaic, ensuring strategic aims were in place so the most effective services could be delivered to LGBTQ+ young people across London.
She continues her support of LGBTQ+ young people as an Advisory Board member at R;pple Suicide Prevention Charity, where she sits on the LGBTQ+ sub-committee.
Emma also co-hosts the You & Us podcast, amplifying stories from a range of people. This includes LGBTQ+ voices. “Our aim is to leverage conversations in the margins, and bring them to the centre. Building community and togetherness are integral aspects of my work”.
