A Multiple Paralympic Medallist with over 100 International Career titles to her name, Lucy Shuker is one of Britain's most successful Wheelchair Tennis players. Achieving career best rankings of World No.#5 in Singles and World No.#3 in Doubles, Lucy is a former Masters Doubles Champion as well as an Australian Open and Wimbledon Grand Slam Doubles Finalist. ? In 2001, aged 21, Lucy had a motorbike accident which left her paralysed from the chest down.
She started playing wheelchair tennis in 2002 and has since gone on to represent Great Britain at four successive Paralympic Games; Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. ?
Lucy made history at the London 2012 Paralympics alongside fellow Brit Jordanne Whiley, becoming the first women to win a Paralympic medal for Great Britain in wheelchair tennis; the pair came from match point down to secure Bronze in the women's doubles event. The pair went on to match this achievement in Rio 2016 before hitting the history books again in Tokyo, winning a Silver Medal which is the best achievement from any women's British pair and saw them become the first women's international doubles pairing to feature on the podium at three successive Paralympic Games. ?
