Who am I

Lucy is a journalist, author, community organiser, public speaker and disability advocate.

All her work aims to demystify disability and challenge ableism. She writes about disability issues for publications like the Guardian, the FT, the Times and others. She is also vocal about ableism on social media, is a regular event and panel speaker for a wide range of organisations, and is the co-founder of community events initiative Every Body Queer, which serves disabled LGBTQ+ people.

Her debut memoir, The View From Down Here, looks at how sexism and ableism interact to shape the lives of disabled women.
